Welcome to the Friends of Brenner Children’s Hospital Website

As I enjoy our final days of summer at the beach with my family, my mind is already racing with the many necessary items I need to do to get my children ready for a new school year.  There are school supplies, backpacks, lunchboxes and athletic equipment that must be purchased (why was I out-of-state during the tax free weekend?).  More importantly, we are looking forward to another year of learning and expanding our horizons.

This thought led me to reflecting on the many things I’ve learned recently about Brenner Children’s hospital that I didn’t know.   I’d love to share some of my new found “knowledge” with you and I promise this is not a test and there is no final exam!

    Did you know:

• Over 4,500 children admitted to Brenner Children’s Hospital each year.
• Brenner Children’s Hospital is staffed by physicians representing all pediatric surgical specialties.
• Brenner Children’s Hospital provides a full-continuum of care with a pediatric emergency room, pediatric and neonatal intensive care units, infant, children, and adolescent inpatient units and outpatient clinics.
• In addition to services at Brenner Children’s Hospital, our physicians also conduct 24 outpatient, outreach clinics, seeing over 1,100 patients annually in 13 counties across western North Carolina and southern Virginia.
• Brenner has the region’s only accredited sleep clinic and laboratory.
  We are so fortunate to have this hospital here to support all of the children in our community.  Enjoy your first days back to school and happy learning!
