We all want to feel good about ourselves. But everyone goes through times when they feel bad inside and don’t always really know why. You may hurt inside and crying makes you feel better. Sometimes we feel sad because people leave us out at school or a friend has moved away or a relative has died. Those are very natural reasons to feel bad, and those feelings eventually go away. But if the sadness doesn’t leave or you keep feeling worse, you need to talk with someone about those feelings, such as a family member, a doctor, teacher or a friend. If you need to talk with a counselor, there are lots of people who specialize in talking with children about their problems. Never forget that there is always someone out there that you can talk with about your troubles. And remember that people of all ages go through this - even adults - and learn to feel better about themselves.

All of us, no matter how large or how small, have times when we don’t feel good. It can be a stomachache or a headache or a body ache. There are all sorts of reasons you don’t feel good. It could be a cold, the flu or an infection, which can give you fevers and various aches and pains. When you feel bad, be sure and tell someone about it, like your family or a teacher. You might need to stay home from school. And it might be better for the other people if you stay home and rest and recover, instead of passing your sickness on to them.
