Pediatric Nephrology

The Nephrology Section at Brenner Children’s Hospital is one of the leading nephrology departments in North Carolina; our clinical specialists provide highly specialized care for infants and children under the age of 21 with kidney-related conditions and disorders. We also offer our pediatric patients a range of options for outpatient dialysis at our free-standing dialysis center, located in Winston-Salem.

Brenner’s pediatric nephrologists specialize in providing care for pediatric patients with all types of kidney-related conditions and disorders, including acute and chronic kidney failure, hematuria, proteinuria, fluid and electrolyte problems, hypertension, kidney infection, kidney stones, kidney transplants and congenital kidney anomalies. We also work closely with Brenner doctors in other specialties and our patients’ primary pediatricians to incorporate a multidisciplinary approach to treatment and care.

Our pediatric nephrologists actively conduct clinical trials and research studies, in collaboration with our colleagues at Brenner and at other institutions throughout the United States, to search for new and better ways to care for pediatric patients and improve their health outcomes.
