Program Overview

The following is a synopsis of the strengths of Wake Forest University School of Medicine’s Training Program:

 

A Resident oriented training program that provides close faculty back-up and appropriately graduated responsibility from the PL-1 year to the PL-3 year.

A brand new, state-of-the-art tertiary referral center where residents are also exposed to a wide variety of primary care admissions. Completion of our program provides a diverse general pediatric background suitable for confident entry into private practice or fellowship training.

Program is ideal size for housestaff camaraderie and allows for flexibility of scheduling between residents and supportive work environment.

Strong academic base through role-models, conferences, and a tradition of high quality faculty teaching presentations.

Opportunities to explore community medicine through rotations at Forsyth Medical Center, the Downtown Health Plaza, and through outpatient experience in a local pediatrician's office.
