Resident Schedule
Our schedule is composed of 13 four week blocks per year. We have created an overall progression from 1st year to 3rd year that both challenges our residents and allows for a good quality of life away from work. We have also adjusted our curriculum to provide electives in the first two years to help those considering fellowship, while still giving third years the sub-specialty exposure they need just prior to graduation.

Electives:
At Brenner Children's Hospital our residents can choose electives in
every major sub-specialty in pediatrics, in addition to International Health, pediatric surgery, ENT, pediatric orthopedics, sports medicine, pediatric radiology, pediatric dermatology, and our Brenner FIT program. Our residents can also spend time at Diabetes Camp and Victory Junction Gang Camp (for children with special health care needs) as part of an elective. We pride ourselves on working with residents to create individualized rotations as well: sedations, procedures, research, away rotations and global health interests.
Research Opportunities – Pediatric faculty members are involved in both basic and clinical research. House officers may choose to participate in a research project during some of their elective time, or on their own. There are ample opportunities for posters, presentations, and research papers.
