Pediatric Cancer Services -- Hematology And Oncology
With the largest pediatric hematology/oncology clinic in western North Carolina, Brenner Children’s employs a family-centered approach to treating patients with life-threatening cancers and hematologic conditions. A special pediatric oncology team meets regularly to discuss and coordinate all aspects of care of children with cancer, including their psychosocial and emotional needs. Doctors at this center actively participate in national, multi-center trials to find better treatments for childhood cancers.
The pediatric oncology team includes:
- pediatric hematologists and oncologists
- pediatric surgeons
- radiation oncologists
- psychologists
- diagnostic radiologists
- pathologists
Taking a family’s work schedule and lifestyle into account when planning a treatment schedule is one of many ways our expert team of pediatric specialists helps families and children manage disease. The pediatric Cancer Patient Support Program addresses a patient’s emotional, psychological and spiritual needs.
