BestHealth offers monthly educational classes for children on preventive health topics, such as exercise and nutrition, as well as specific topics geared toward parents. Programs are announced in our monthly newsletter and include:
- Age-appropriate classes for pre-teens and teens in addition to those for younger children
- Classes for children and parents to attend together

Understanding Asperger Syndrome
Wednesday, July 27 6:30 pm
Held at BestHealth in Hanes Mall
Approximately one in 110 children are affected by an autism spectrum disorder. Join developmental pediatrician Dr. Kurt Klinepeter from Brenner Children’s Hospital of Wake Forest Baptist Health to learn more about the diagnosis of Asperger syndrome, treatment options, and assistance programs. Safe Sitter Basic®
Thursday, August 11
9 to 4 pm Taught by certified Safe Sitter instructors, this nationally recognized program teaches 11- to 13-year-olds how to be safe, nurturing babysitters. Students learn safety precautions, basic first aid and how to care for a child who is choking and more, then take a final exam to earn a completion card. The cost is $40 per student for the one-day class, and includes a Safe Sitter manual and babysitter kit. Students should bring a healthy bag lunch; drinks will be provided. Held at BestHealth in Hanes Mall. Space is limited. Call 713-2378 to register.
