0  Sugar-Sweetened Beverages

Take home message:

  1. Eliminate sugar-sweetened beverages- they do nothing for our bodies (and that includes juice & sports drinks)
  2. Drinking our calories does not fill us up- it just gives extra calories
  3. There are a lot of great tasting sugar-free beverages out there

 FIT Kit 0 contents:

  • Examples of high sugar drink containers and corresponding bags of sugar (picture)
  • Measure out the amount of sugar in each and put in small plastic ziploc bag.  Have families try to match bags of sugar to correct beverage. This demonstrates how much sugar we take in with these drinks.
