Childhood Obesity

Childhood obesity is a serious issue with many health and social consequences that often continue into adulthood. Implementing prevention programs and getting a better understanding of different treatments for childhood obesity is vital to controlling this condition.

Many parents are rightly concerned about childhood obesity and how its affects on their kids. Parents want reliable information for prevention and treatment of childhood obesity. Unfortunately, there has not been a lot of relevant research for childhood obesity until recently. The information we do have is a lot less precise than we would like. Are kids too concerned about their weight? What are the best strategies for preventing childhood obesity? What treatments work over a long time? Researchers are trying to answer those and many other questions regarding childhood obesity. In many cases, common sense works well.

In situations where there are serious health, psychological or social problems relating to their kids’ childhood obesity, parents should seek a physician for professional advice.
