Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

Wearing a cloth face covering may prevent you from spreading respiratory droplets. If everyone wears a cloth face covering when out in public, the risk of exposure to COVID-19 can be reduced in our community. More About Face Coverings

Update Concerning COVID-19:

Brenner Children’s primary concern is to preserve the well-being and health of our community. In an effort to keep our community safe, we are changing the Friends of Brenner Annual Luncheon to a Virtual DIY (Do-it-yourself) Social. We are asking our Friends and supporters to host a small gathering of four to six friends and/or family members in your ‘bubble’ for lunch or appetizers to learn about Brenner Children’s. All gatherings must follow CDC guidelines.

Thank you to our chairs, Gaines and Dixon Douglas and Ryan and Ben Johnson for chairing this year’s event. They have done a wonderful job planning an event during the midst of a pandemic!

A note from our chairs- We have an exciting program for this year’s first-ever Virtual “Do It Yourself” Event! As we highlight the Brenner Children's Patient Assistance Fund, we also look forward to sharing the story of Roe-Roe Tucker’s courageous battle with Leukemia. In addition, we will hear from Dr. Allison McBride about her experience with Covid-19 in children. As we adapt to the unusual circumstances this year, our virtual event will provide an informative and moving program that you can view from the comfort and safety of your home. We hope you will join us to hear what’s going on inside Brenner Children’s and help the families that need us the most.

Thank you for your continuing interest and support,
Gaines and Dixon Douglas

Who are the Friends of Brenner Children's?
The Friends of Brenner Children's is a group of dedicated volunteers who support the hospital through fundraising and community awareness activities. In 1987, a steering committee of eight interested people was developed to initiate the introduction of Brenner Children's to the community and to set up the Friends  organization. The mission of the Friends of Brenner Children’s is to enhance the situation of patients at Brenner Children's by fundraising and public awareness.

Friends of Brenner Children's have three objectives.
        1. To increase community awareness of Brenner.
        2. To raise funds to supplement the programs of Brenner.
        3. To increase and broaden the membership in the Friends.

Friends now has more than 600 members and organizes events such as the Cheers! to Brenner Children's, Annual Friends of Brenner Luncheon, 31 Days and 31 Ways for Brenner Children's and WMAG Brenner Children's Heroes, Hope & Heart.
