Temporary Visitor Restrictions

Because the number of influenza cases has significantly increased throughout the region, children age 12 and under may not visit patients effective Wednesday, January 8. This applies to all Wake Forest Baptist inpatient locations and will remain in effect until the number of flu cases decreases significantly.

Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fund

Brenner Children’s Hospital was state’s first Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and recently we renovated our Emergency Department— a 20,665-square-foot facility with 18 examination rooms, four large treatment rooms, two trauma rooms and a diagnostic suite.

The beds, wheelchairs and other equipment have all been designed with a child in mind so everything is smaller, more colorful and more welcoming.

The Emergency Department also has a full-time staff of doctors and nurses who are trained in both pediatrics and emergency medicine as well as more than 130 specialists in 30 areas of pediatric medicine.
