Rest Stops for Families

Brenner Children's Hospital provides several options for parents, siblings and other family members to relax, seek information, check-in at work or get a breath of fresh air.

Rooftop Garden and Playground

Children and their siblings can enjoy a break and some outside air by visiting the Rooftop Garden on the 12th floorRooftop Playground 500px of Ardmore Tower West. Whether enjoying a picnic at the outdoor tables, climbing on the playground or playing with the interactive kiosks, children can take a break from medical procedures and just be children. A special music box plays entertaining tunes as well.

Parents will enjoy the beautiful garden areas and the unique view of the Winston-Salem skyline. Open year-round (weather permitting), the rooftop garden and playground at Brenner Children’s Hospital is the only outdoor area of its kind in the region, designed exclusively for kids.

Fundraising opportunities to sponsor portions of the Rooftop Garden are available by calling the Brenner Children’s Hospital Development Office at 336-716-6975

Ronald McDonald Room

At the Ronald McDonald House® Family Room, located in Brenner Children’s Hospital, the services offered at the House are extended by providing a place for parents to take a break from the bedside of the hospitalized child.

Visitors to the Family Room can enjoy a snack in the kitchen, relax in one of the seating areas, or use the computers to keep in touch with family and friends. At both the House and the Family Room, staff, volunteers, and fellow guests provide families with much-needed support.
