Do Wet Dreams Stop When a Guy Gets Older?

Do Wet Dreams Stop When a Guy Gets Older?

I am 13 and I have been having "wet dreams" recently. Will they go away as I get older?
- Jake*

Wet dreams (when a guy ejaculates while he's asleep) usually happen when a guy is dreaming about sexual stuff. Sometimes guys wake up from wet dreams; sometimes they sleep through them. A guy might not remember the dream he was having.

Wet dreams begin during puberty when the body starts making more testosterone, the major male hormone. Most guys have wet dreams at some point during puberty and even sometimes as adults. However, they usually happen less or stop altogether as guys get older and reach the end of puberty.

Some guys may feel embarrassed or guilty about having wet dreams, but they're a normal part of growing up.
