Pediatric Experts Join Faculty at Brenner Children’s Hospital

WINSTON-SALEM – Pamela F. Bensimhon, M.D., has joined the pediatric faculty at Brenner Children’s Hospital as a clinical assistant professor in pediatric hematology and oncology.

Bensimhon’s clinical interests include hematology and oncology. Bensimhon is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She earned her medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed a residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She completed a fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at Duke University Medical Center.
Alexandra Boeving, Ph.D., has joined the pediatric faculty at Brenner Children’s Hospital as a child psychologist in pediatric hematology and oncology.
Boeving earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Va. and completed post-doctoral fellowships at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and Yale School of Medicine.
Natalia E. Dixon, M.D., has joined the pediatric faculty at Brenner Children’s Hospital as an assistant professor in pediatric hematology and oncology.
Dixon’s clinical interests include non-malignant hematology, such as sickle cell disease, anemia, thrombosis and hemophilia.
Dixon is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She earned her medical degree at Instituto de Ciencias de la Salud – CES, Medellin, Columbia, and completed a residency at Miami Children’s Hospital, Miami, Fla. She completed a fellowship in pediatric hematology and oncology at Duke University Medical Center.
Jennifer B. Helderman, M.D., has joined the pediatric faculty at Brenner Children’s Hospital as an assistant professor in neonatology.
Helderman’s clinical interests include neonatal sepsis and neonatal brain development.
Helderman is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. She earned her medical degree at East Carolina University, and completed a residency and fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Jen-Jar Lin, M.D., has joined the pediatric faculty at Brenner Children’s Hospital as an associate professor in pediatric nephrology.
Lin’s clinical interests include dialysis, hypertension and kidney transplantation.
Lin is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in nephrology. He earned his medical degree at Taipei Medical College, Taiwan, and completed a residency and fellowship in pediatric nephrology at New York State University at Stony Brook.
Joseph Skelton, M.D., has joined the pediatric faculty at Brenner Children’s Hospital as an associate professor in pediatric gastroenterology and head of the Brenner FIT (Families in Training) obesity program.
Skelton’s clinical interests include pediatric obesity, nutrition, bariatric surgery, metabolic syndrome and fatty liver disease.
Skelton is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He earned his medical degree at University of Tennessee, Memphis, Tenn. and completed a residency and fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Medical College of Wisconsin.
