Therapeutic Day Program
Accredited and Licensed by State of NC Department of Health
and Human Services, Division of Mental Health to provide day treatment services
for 16 children ages 3-7 with behavioral/emotional disorders. The program is
also CABHA Certified/Critical Access Behavioral Health Agency.
Program operates 7 hours daily Monday through Friday
8:30-3:30.
Credentialed by CenterPoint Human Services to be a contract
provider. Families without Medicaid are assessed a sliding scale fee based upon
income.
Located next to Forsyth Hospital but affiliated with Wake
Forest University Health Sciences Department of Pediatrics.
Direct-care professional staff each has degree in area of
expertise and include:
- Educational Therapist
- Music Therapy
- Recreation Therapist
- Behavioral Specialist
Therapy assistants have
numerous years of experience in the field.
Day treatment services for client will include behavior
management strategies which emphasize positive reinforcement, development of
appropriate social skills, academic instruction by a Winston-Salem Forsyth
County Teacher, and community outings to provide practice for reintegration to
client’s school/home setting.
Each client has an Individualized 'Person-Centered Plan' to
address treatment goals.
In addition, program employs a Clinical Social Worker to
provide parent training and set up services for family in the community. The
program’s Child Psychologist develops an individual behavior plan for each
client, assists with parent training and provides psychotherapy and/or testing
as needed. If client exhibits any other significant behaviors, The Psychologist
and the Clinical Social Worker are qualified to identify and give a diagnosis.
Developmental and Behavioral Pediatricians from Wake Forest
School of Medicine are on site for consultation and medication management if
deemed advisable.
Professional therapy staff will provide training for
classroom personnel when child is ready to transition back into his/her school
setting.
Transportation Services are available for eligible clients.
Outpatient Counseling Services: Licensed clinician provides
supportive counseling, utilizing creative and highly effective counseling
techniques specifically designed to support the ‘younger’ child and family.
