Outreach, Surgery Bring Hope to Honduran Boy and His Family
Born with arthrogryposis, a congenital condition that caused his legs to be severely twisted, Farid could not walk. Instead, he learned to use his hands and knees to propel himself. Earlier this year, Dr. Bettina Gyr, an orthopaedic surgeon at Brenner Children’s Hospital, performed surgery to straighten his legs. Now he is making steps to walking and running.
